Charity Shouldn’t Look This Badass: Dream Car Giveaway’s Dodge Challenger Hellcat X AND A 1970 Challenger R/T 440 Could Be Yours!

Charity Shouldn’t Look This Badass: Dream Car Giveaway’s Dodge Challenger Hellcat X AND A 1970 Challenger R/T 440 Could Be Yours!

The Dream Car Giveaway is a pretty cool deal…they hold a buy-in raffle for a grand prize that consists of an older and newer version of a vehicle that any gearhead would be quite happy stuffing into their garage, and the proceeds go to the New Beginnings Children’s Home charity, who in turn distribute the money to groups such as the DAV and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The cost of a ticket isn’t bad, either, at $3, though you can seriously slant the odds in your favor by buying tickets in bulk, like 6,000 tickets for $5,000. But say you are the lucky winner, odds be damned. In the past Dream Giveaway has sent out Corvettes, Shelby Mustangs and the like. What’s this year’s package? Mopar folks, welcome to heaven: The 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat X and the black 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 that was featured in a Dodge commercial a couple of years ago.

HC X

A Challenger Hellcat would simply suffice, right? Not here. The Hellcat X is a one-off build that has gained bare aluminum hoodscoop and heat extractor detailing, adjustable chin spoiler and deck spoiler, and a handmade rear diffusor, along with some badging and interior dress-up. But that ain’t all…just because 707 horsepower was so pedestrian, the Hellcat X now sports a 62mm Hellion Power Systems turbocharger that will work in conjunction with the 2.3L Eaton blower that was already force-feeding the big Hemi. Power levels? 805 horsepower and 800 ft/lbs of torque. Words fail us.

1970 R:T

But wait, there’s more! In addition to the late-model sociopath, the winner will also receive this 1970 Challenger R/T 440! Featured in Dodge’s “Revolution Reborn” advertisement (where it wore 426 Hemi callouts, presumably to line up with the SRT 6.1 Challenger it ‘transformed’ into), this is an actual U-code R/T in TX9 Black, which makes it 1 out of 100 black Challenger R/Ts. Packing a 440 four-barrel (sorry, no Six Pack), four-speed, and 8.75 rear packing 3.84 gears, it is the kind of classic Mopar that we’d love to drive. It’s the Vanishing Point Challenger’s pissed off cousin. We’re good with that.
