We were really excited to get the tip on this Budweiser Rocket Car trailer, even though it clearly doesn’t meet the standards of race transporters today. None of that matters when you consider that this bad boy used to haul the worlds fastest vehicle. What, you haven’t heard of it? Well in 1979 the Budweiser Rocket Car ran over 700 mph in California. In fact, it ran faster than the speed of sound, in 1979…
Okay, okay we can’t just make that statement without letting you know that the car was embroiled in controversy from the get go. The run, which had a top speed of 739.66 mph, was made near Edwards Airforce Base in California but was not timed by the SCTA or FIA. The speed was also measured by radar and data logging equipment, rather than with timers over distance. But who cares. The damn thing went really fast. And we dig really fast stuff.
