Craigslist Find: This 1937 Packard One-Twenty Sedan Is Packing A 5.9 Cummins Under That Clean, Stock Look

Craigslist Find: This 1937 Packard One-Twenty Sedan Is Packing A 5.9 Cummins Under That Clean, Stock Look

Rolling around in a 1937 Packard sedan makes a statement…a huge one. This is a vehicle that has a wheelbase nine inches longer than a 1973-newer Chevrolet Suburban and seats that have more in common with luxury home furniture than they do anything in automotive design. The stately black exterior and grey interior, coupled with the beautiful chrome and the classic 1930s shape make this Packard a jaw-dropper regardless of where it goes, but this particular pre-war gem is hiding a secret under the hood.

Goodrich radial tires (31 inch wide on back !!!), no patch panels, all steel floor front and back, the list goes on and on…

Modern upgrades, gorgeous classic looks, and so long as the Cummins runs clean, what non-gearhead would guess that the sounds of a big-bore inline six were out of place? Early Cummins sixes aren’t quiet, but we hope some measure was taken to calm the beast down a bit. Naturally, Question #1 is simply, “How much?” And in this case, it’s a sincere concern, because nice prewar cars usually bring decent cash in nearly any form. $29,500 cash will get you the Packard, the paperwork and the privilege of owning one of the most unique and understated hot rods in the country. It’s not cheap, but we see it as a good value for the build.

Would it be wrong to drive this beauty while wearing anything other than a nice, crisp suit?

That is a simply amazing build. I can’t find anything I don’t like, except for the fact that I don’t have $2,900, let alone 29 large. Looks to be worth every penny though.

There is nothing about this car that I don’t like. If I had the money laying around I’d be on the phone now.

I just wish after such a sweet build he would have done more than the generic auto zone universal cup holder.
