Could This LTD Wagon Be The Best $750 You Ever Spent On Craigslist?

Could This LTD Wagon Be The Best $750 You Ever Spent On Craigslist?

We think so! It’s a roller which is why it’s so cheap. Well, that and the fact that it’s an LTD. As the ad states, this thing is built on a Fox body chassis so it’s the same as a Mustang. All the good stuff will bolt up to it and it’s just begging for an LS with a single turbo on it. I know I know, you Ford guys are sick of hearing about LS engines in all your Fords. Well too bad. It would rule!

This car actually was slated to be converted over to Mustang GT status, including the dash, suspension, drivetrain, and much more. The seller must have ran out of patience on the project because it is all for sale. In fact, the 5.0 drivetrain can be yours with it for another $1500. We’d tell him to keep it and throw an LS and 6 speed in it, or go all drag race style and throw the Turbo LS into one of AFCO’s cool bolt in crossmembers and set this thing up for big wheelstands on a 275 tire.

What would you do with it?

Good thing for my wife that it’s too far to tow it home.

For some reason, I’ve been thinking Coyote motor and SN95 Cobra IRS for attacking winding roads instead of the turbo LS drag car sort of build.

Of course youd put an ls in it cause none of you retards could get a coyote to run Im so sick of ls’sand sbc’s being stuffed into everything because even a window licker can make them run if you buy a ford put a ford motor in it its called brand loyalty !

if I bought it I sure as hell would NOT put an ls engine in it. I would stick with a ford engine. LS stands for literally sucks right?

Utter madness, remember how I was looking for one of these things around 3yrs ago?

Still would do what I wanted to do then. 2.3/2.5 Lima I4 with a Lyschom screw blower off of a Mazda Millennia S backed up by an auto. Then I’d do what Matt was suggesting with the suspension and do it for cornering vs. drag strip action. Pretty sure I’d have to go air bags in the rear since I’d still use it like a wagon and haul crap (like say a rear axle or engine) home.

LS motors are for cars with piss-poor ignition switches, not Fords.

Big-inch Windsor with a pair of turbos for me, please.

want to do something really creative put a ford cosworth turbo 4 cylinder in it when built properly those will put out over 800 hp and there extremly light hence them being used in everything from rally to touring cars

Hey, sometimes LeSs is more. The biggest issue with the Modular Engines and Coyote V8s are that they take up big block space due to the OHC setup.

I’m thinking a 4BT with the wick turned way up and a hood exit stack. If you like to tinker and have a crush on the parts counter girl you could install a powerstroke though.

That thing really needs an ECOboost 4 out of a new Mustang with the Ford Racing catalog thrown at it. They’d never see it coming.
