I can’t remember when the story ran, but around the late 1990s the name Jon Moss was the buzzword for “Fast GM Products”. The “Toy Box” cars, as they were referred to, weren’t so much factory prototypes. Instead, it looked like a few hot rodders within the walls of GM figured out how to get a sizable budget while at the same time keeping management off of their case. The vehicles are cool today, but for the 1990s, they were beyond belief….rear-drive V8 powered Monte Carlos, supercharged Cavaliers that looked rally-ready, Camaros that had enough grunt to entice even the most die-hard old-school muscle fan into smiling, and the trucks…all-wheel-drive and usually packing a big-block. The original Coolside used a one-off all-wheel-drive system to put the power of a 510ci big-block to all four wheels. GM kept with the thought, and vehicles like the TrailBlazer SS, Silverado SS, and Tahoe Limited added a bit of a bite to typical truck fare. Then there were the other AWD offerings: the GMC Syclone and Typhoon. 4.3L of pissed-off V6 in the S-truck chassis proved to be a worthy adversary, with the truck famously being pitted against a Ferrari 348 in a magazine test. Not bad either, and plenty quick.
Now…take the monster V8, the all-wheel-drive S-chassis platform, and mate them together under the moniker of a dead brand name. This 1994 Oldsmobile Bravada looks and sounds like an absolute ripper, and it’s up for sale. We will let the ad speak for the truck itself:
94 Bravada with a 6.0 Ls and LSA blower.
To much to list but I will try to list as much as possible.
Pretty fun to cruise around in, only selling because I found a different project.
500hp
Still AWD
All of the gauges work, cruise control, A/C (needs charged but does work), heat.
Ran a 11.7 in the 1/4, has a smaller pulley and different torque converter now and hasn’t been to the track since.

Not sure on the pulley size for the supercharger but it is the smallest you can go without machining the snout of the supercharger

Built 4l80e
Custom front driveshaft
New Jakes Billet torque converter
Rebuilt 8.8 rearend
Almost all of the front end parts are new, ball joint, tie rod ends, RF wheel bearing etc..

Extras –
I have the cowl hood and the one that is cut out around the supercharger
Have another front diff + an axle
Extra transfer case
Have the original rims with brand new tires, currently has the corvette rims on it. Original rims are nice for highway trips
Cons –
Ever since the motor was swapped in it has had some metal in the oil and some typical ls piston slap when cold but completely goes away when warm, I pulled the motor and put in new bearings hoping it would fix it but their is still some every oil change. I have a 5.3 that would go with it for the right price. The 5.3 will make just as much power as the 6.0.
Rust around one of the body mounts, paint isn’t perfect, clear coat coming off on the moldings.
Rear windows need new motors, I have one replacement
Front Diff whines at certain speeds
Steering wheel is off center, could use aligned
I’ve got a ’99 Bravada, it needs rear springs, seeing this one guess I’m going to have to lower it some.
I don’t trust any ad with the old “A/C works but needs charged” … spent thousands of dollars on other mods, can’t get the A/C charged though. In other words, it doesn’t work.
