Dodge’s New “Pick-Up” TV Spot Featuring Hellcats Is An Excellent Take On An Old Joke – Fathers, Lock Up Your Daughters!

Dodge’s New “Pick-Up” TV Spot Featuring Hellcats Is An Excellent Take On An Old Joke – Fathers, Lock Up Your Daughters!

I have a childhood friend my age who has a daughter. She’s not yet two, but it’s painfully obvious that in about fifteen years, that he will be in utter hell…she will be the reason every man fears having a daughter. I’m waiting for the phone call from him where he asks me to train him on how to properly clean a firearm so that he is ready for the first date scare-a-thon. And I can’t say that I’ve been a good friend on the subject…I’ll rib him a bit and suggest that he’ll have a twenty-year-old Mustang in his driveway and some goofy dork showing up on his doorstep, holding flowers while trying to pass off a clean t-shirt and the least raggedy jeans he has on as “proper attire”, which is playing up his fear nicely. I’m sure I’ll catch karmic hell for this if I ever have a child.

Cute monologue and all, but what does this have to do with the newest commercial from FCA that features the modern interpretation of the Dodge Brothers? Well…everything. Sure, the old man in the field likes what he sees when a Hellcat Challenger rolls into his country lane. The noise it makes, the looks, the performance. It’s almost a throwback to when he was younger…and wilder. Which makes that “goodbye, Daddy” peck on the cheek that much more startling…

Good ad – though I still love the “Imported from Detroit” ads best. They always made my eyes wet having come from that area.

It’s amazing what happens when your sweet little girl reaches about 12 years.
Smart mouth, crabby, and brittle, they are appalled at all the stupid people
(parents, siblings, teachers) that “ruin” their lives. And they don’t mind telling
you so! When my daughter, complains about her daughter’s ,”bad attitude”,
I just roll my eyes and smile. Got Karma?
