Some might say that undertaking someone else’s kit-car project is ambitious. Others might use words like “ludicrous” or perhaps something stronger, like “Kevorkianesque.” All we know is that if you’ve got $12,500 and a whole lot of time on your hands, you can own this theoretically convincing Lamborghini copy. This Countach replica, if we’re reading this right, is Fiero-based but rather than use the floppy old GM unibody, this Raleigh-based seller has a beefy-looking steel frame from which to hang the fiberglass body panels. Of course, the assembly stopped somewhere in the process of putting Fiero bits onto the frame so there’s a long way to go.
The usual CraigsList tropes are here, like the all-caps declaration “MY KIT CAN LOOK LIKE THE BRIGHT RED ONE PICTURED,” but at least there are no invented words or misspellings. While rambling, the seller doesn’t seem completely nuts. That said, the donor Fiero GT had a 4.9L Cadillac V8 swapped in it—which is apparently a Fiero thing—so even with the thick steel frame, it might be able to get out of its own way, albeit not quite with the same Countach top speed of 207 mph.
You could find worse projects and, unlike most of the Fauxrarri and Fiero-ghini kits in the classifieds, this one’s body panels don’t come pre-broken.
You mean Barf-oghini don’t you?
No matter how good the fit and finish this is still an under-powered 8/10th scale model of the real thing for an under-endowed owner. So if you are satisfied with your manhood, save the money and spend it on wine women and song and enjoy yourself secure in the knowledge that this passion-killer isn’t lurking in your garage!
someone give that man a tubing bender!
Would the Fiero body fit back over that, I wonder?
no as that particular conversion kit uses the lambo dimensions so a fiero shell would be too small
1st.. the 84-88 Fiero is a space frame not a unit body…
2st it was the best car in crash testing only the Volvo wagon was better
floppy unit body… Bangshift, do you even research anything…
some of you would look mighty silly when your car gets walked by a 3800s/c powered Fiero or a ls4 powered one..
