If you buy this bad boy, and we do mean BAD, you will never have to worry about pulling into the track, car show, grocery store parking lot, or pub and seeing one just like it. Not going to happen stateside boys and girls, cause this is one unique “Ute”. The 2008 Ford XR8 has been beautifully built with all the trick parts, including 540 cubic inches of nitrous huffing. Dominator topped, big block Ford that’s backed by a trick Glide. The chassis looks up to just about any task, and the car (?) is show finished to perfection.
Apparently the owner has lost interest, although we can’t figure out why you would want to sell it at this late date. According to the photos this thing is very very close to driving, and probably won’t cost much more in parts. This could be a screaming deal for someone if you can buy it for the right price.
You may not have ever dreamed of having one of these but, like we said before, you will definitely be the only guy stateside that has one. The bidding is starting at only $5000 and we know the fuel system and carb on this bad boy is probably worth close to that. So start bidding! Oh, and did we forget to mention it is RIGHT HAND DRIVE? It is. And that’s kinda cool. Buy it.

BOTH Ford and Gm have missed the boat by not bringing their “UTES” over to this country. A v-8 coupled with an ability to do light hauling- a no brainer. Don’t pickups out sell many cars? “Fiat-ler ” was stupid dropping the Dakota and Ford (USA) for the Ranger. If they don’t sell why not make them more appealing?
Hey John, Chevy/GMC also dropped their compact pickups from their lineup as well…
So I agree with you on Ford & GM bringing the Utes stateside…I’d trade in my Toyota Tundra for one of these really quick.
I know Holdens (GM did make a bid to sell the Commodore ute over there as an El Camino around the time they were pushing Monaro’s as GTO’s and Commy sedans as G8’s but the timing was all wrong with the GFC unfortunately… they had all these Pontiac ready front clips too – so funnily enough they’ve ended up making appearances on the odd Aussie stuff!
That would make a great street car, but there is no way you could get tags on it in NC unless you could convence DMV its a 1968 ranchero! I am sure the sale price will be much higher than the starting.
Yep. Pontiac had already started marketing their version of the Holden ute but were blind sided by the destruction of their whole brand. They were going to call it the Pontiac ST, which stood for Sport Truck. They had a contest to name it and that’s all they could come up with.
