One of the items in my eBay saved searches is Motor Wheel Spyder mags. These wheels, built from roughly ’68 to ’74, are becoming increasingly hard to come by, especially for decent prices. This eBay auction features a set in 14×6, which is the most common size, but in an unfortunate 5-on-5 bolt pattern. Should you find a set of 14s with a Chevy or Ford pattern, then the cast center can be knocked out of the steel rim and turned into 15s with any offset you want by the likes of Stockton Wheel.

The appeal of the Motor Wheels is not just that they are retro and unusual, but that you can sometimes spot the magnesium versions in photos of early Pro Stock racers. Those cars often featured the more rare and desireable Motor Wheel Fly design on the front, or on both ends.
