BangShift Sponsors Detroit Speed, Ridetech and Spectre Performance were all on hand at this past weekend’s Midwest Muscle Car Challenge where, as usual, they tore it up in grand fashion. The event is a two day affair that includes Road Racing at Putnam Park in Indiana, and an Autocross and Speedstop event 100 miles away in Lawrenceville Illinois. With top 3 finishes in each run group at Putnam Park, as well as the Top Speed Challenge on it’s long front straight away, all three BangShift sponsors did us proud.
The Forgeline Hot Lap Challenge was decided by the single quickest lap around the track at Putnam and was separated into two run groups, Intermediate and Novice. Ridetech’s Bret Voelkel wheeled the infamous 48 Hour Camaro to the number one spot in the intermediate group, while Detroit Speed’s Stacy Tucker came through with the number three spot in her ’69 Camaro just behind Brian Finch. Meanwhile Spectre Performance’s Brandy Morrow finished in the number two spot in the Novice group behind the wheel of the Spectre Carbon Camaro.
In the Speed by Spectre “Top Speed Challenge”, the tables were turned as Stacy Tucker took the top spot from the boys and Bret Voelkel brought home the number three spot behind Brian Finch. Brandy Morrow did the company proud by finishing third in the Top Speed Challenge for the Novice group.
On Sunday, the event changed gears and moved to Lawrenceville for the Baer Brake Speed Stop Challenge where James Crosby, now behind the wheel of the 48 Hour Camaro, took the number two spot behind Billy Utley and ahead of Brian Finch. During the days Bowler Transmissions/Royal Purple Street Challenge Autocross, Spectre again ran a Top Speed Challenge and James Crosby and Stacy Tucker tied for third.
Overall it was a very good event for BangShift Sponsors, and we’re glad they were able to make us proud as usual. Complete event results for the Midwest Muscle Car Challenge are available at MidwestMuscleCarChallenge.com.
