This weekend was the Goodguys All-American Get Together in Pleasanton, and it was huge. With perfect weather, and the coolest fairgrounds on earth, it’s no wonder all the cool kids were out having fun in their hot rods at the Goodguys Show this weekend. One thing that makes the All-American Get Together different, but in a cool way, is the fact that it is one of the few all year shows that Goodguys puts on. That means late model muscle, custom trucks, muscle cars, street rods, traditionals, and much much more can be found on the grounds of the Alameda County Fair. As home to the Goodguys, and the location where I used to go to Goodguys shows when they first started, Pleasanton has a little bit of a special feel for everyone involved.
There were tons of cars to see at in all the show ground areas, but there was also plenty of on track action going on over at the Autocross, and once again Ridetech equipped machines did really well, with Brett Campbell taking the win in Street Machine, Rodney Prouty taking second in Street Machine, and Rob McGregor running 4th in Pro with the No Limit “Hellboy” C10. Mike Maier, Autocross Champion extraordinaire, took home the Pro title in his wife’s ’66 Mustang and put on a show all weekend that had the crowd cheering as well.
