ChallengerFest 7, sponsored by Billet Technology, has officially kicked off in Bowling Green and we are there covering everything there is to cover! We were impressed with not only the quantity but the quality of all of the third-gen Hemi-powered rides that we saw last year, but were blown out of the water when pretty much every car we saw at the car show was making passes at the track the next day. This year, the Modern Street Hemi Shootout series moved their season opening race from Bradenton, Florida to Beech Bend, lining up with the event that originally started with a few friends getting together just a few years ago. What does the addition of the MSHS series mean for ChallengerFest this year? Two solid days of racing, plus the car shows, charity auctions, and fun. We spent a good deal of time on the ground today as participants rolled in for the initial meet up and registration. While Dodge Challengers are plentiful, there is plenty of other Mopar muscle to be seen, from a ProCharged Hemi Ram shortbed to a mysterious but deadly-looking 1972-74 Plymouth ‘Cuda that has a tilt front clip and enough rubber on the back to dead-hook just about any car around.
Friday and Saturday are the racing days, with plenty of classes to watch, including the Modern Street Hemi Shootout race on Friday and the Six Speed Shootout sponsored by The Driveshaft Shop, the Modern Mopar Forum Unlimited Shootout, The A2Speed/B&G Performance Bracket Race, and the HRH Performance/OSTDyno Engine Shootout Bracket Race. If you’re near Bowling Green, Kentucky and want to see some good racing, come on down…not only is BangShift covering the event, but we will also be racing! That’s right, McTaggart has our resident 3G Hemi, the Angry Grandpa Chrysler 300C, registered to run the quarter! If you’re unable to make it, don’t worry…just stay tuned, we will bring you plenty from the show!
Thanks for joining us at ChallengerFest
