Event Gallery: Fontanel Concert Cruise, September 2014

The more we spend time at Fontanel, the more we love it. The last time we went we were rained out within an hour and a half. This time the weather couldn’t have been more perfect, with cars rolling onto the lawns about an hour before the show started. We left early, needing to return home so that the wife could get some rest before heading to work in the early morning, but it was still great so see the wide diversity of the cars present. Unlike a lot of shows I’ve been to, it wasn’t all the same cars as last time. Sure, there were one or two (the low-mile Pontiac convertible made an appearance again), but a lot of new cars showed up. This week’s cruise was sponsored by RTM Productions and PowerNation, and the celebrity guest was Joe Elmore of Horsepower TV fame.

The theme for this show was “the story behind the ride”. From a guy who followed us around for a bit telling us stories about his past rides to the owners of a ’73 Chevelle telling us the entire history behind their ride, there was no shortage of people who wanted to talk about their rides.

While the season is winding down, the powers that be made a great decision: last week was supposed to be a 9/11 tribute show featuring Stacey David, sponsored by Painless Wiring. It got cancelled when the show got rained out. However, Painless and the crew behind the Cruise decided to extend the schedule to October 4th, 2014 in order to host the show that they were going to put on. If you’re somewhat local and want an Indian summer cruise, head out to White House, Tennessee and check this one out.
