Maybe it’s because we are always looking at heavily modified cars, but going to last weekend’s California Collector Car Auction really had us drooling over some of the classics. We’re talking original Lincolns, Fords, Dodges, Buicks, Chevrolets and more. Cars that were built in the Teens, Twenties, and Thirties and yet still have doors that shut like a door should. I took Daphne with me to this one because I thought she would enjoy seeing some cool stuff without it being the typical car show or race. I was right. She dug it, and had never been around original cars like the ones in this particular photo gallery. She opened a door on one particular ’30s machine and when she closed it went “Wow! That’s how a door is supposed to shut.”. She was mesmerized by all the controls on the 1912 Buick Model 35 Touring Car, and wanted to buy all of them.
She sat in an original Fiat 500 for the first time, and was ready to hit the road with it, after realizing that all the micro cars are cool as hell. From big to small, the number of classic cars on hand in a variety of conditions was awesome. There were cars there in all price ranges, and we were surprised to see that you can buy original cars for reasonable prices depending on what they are.
