Pro Mods and X275 racers might be the features that puts butts into seats for the Holley EFI Outlaw Street Car Reunion VI show at Beech Bend, but any fan that buys a ticket for the show is in for a hell of a lot more than just some monster full-tilt-boogie race cars. There’s a whole field of door cars that run the gamut from the big boys to the folks that are running on 235-series radials in the DXP 235 class. That means that even the slowest class competing this weekend at Beech Bend has plenty in store for anyone on the grounds watching. Over the course of Q1, we’ve seen Keith Haney’s Camaro have a small “incident” at the top end of the track that didn’t hurt car or driver but probably killed a fire suit, a C6 Corvette puke it’s oil all over the starting line, Pro Mods on the back wheels only, a very tight race in DXP 235, and Rich Bruder showing the X275 class how it’s done with a two-tenths gap between his first place run and Randy Matlock’s second position blast (4.29 to a 4.475).
Friday is another day, with more qualifying runs and the first of the elimination rounds! Stay tuned for more coverage from Beech Bend!
