Starting later today, you’ll be seeing our first images from SCTA-BNI Bonneville Speed Week 2013. Just to really get your crank spinning we decided to pull up last year’s galleries so you can have a look-see and maybe even use them for comparison sake. Surely some of the stuff you’ll see in these galleries have received upgrades and changes since 2012. Along with the photos we have the records and new 200 MPH club members who will be getting their hats in just a couple of days! The excitement is palpable!

The SCTA-BNI Bonneville Speed Week 2012 was awesome. I can’t remember a time when it wasn’t awesome, regardless of the year, but this one was really good. The weather was good, the cars were fast, and there wasn’t any really crazy drama going on. We’ve got jillions of photos from the week, and all our coverage and results is here in one place for you to enjoy plus every single record that was set during Speed Week. Our pal Lee Sicilio set a record with his car on it’s first outing which was awesome and speaks to the teams preparedness. Poteet and Main once again took home the Hot Rod Trophy for being the single fastest run of the week, although it was not without drama. They broke stuff multiple times, and ultimately set a record of 422.509 which they should be very proud of. So, let us know what you think, and come join us next year at Speed Week. Also, look for even more land speed racing coverage this year here at BangShift.com.

No coverage on Poteet and main WTF you only cover you buddies
As you can see Poteet and Main hit one record this year. They had lots of problems and only made a few runs. They still won the hot rod trophy as we reported earlier, but I’ve added it here as well.
I’d like to give a big congratulations to Ken Makuch and his two sons Matthew and Danny. For shattering the record in XFGR (flathead roadster) at 161.08. Beating the old record of 153. First time out with a brand new car, #335, and a monster flathead he built himself. Way to go guys! Thanks for the coverage BangShift.
George was Smooth. the crew chased mechanical problems All week. Still the fastest wheel driven car in the World.
RE: Chad Reynolds’ reporting.
The reporting was really thin after Day 4, except for a few apparent favorites.
It would be worth mentioning that Kenny Duttweiler and the Speed Demon Team, even with two engine swaps, just kept making more and more runs.
They completed a total of nine runs with six of them being over 400 MPH.
(401, 408, 409, 427, 429 and 430.
The run on Friday raised George’s D-BFS 404 MPH record to 422.509 MPH for the Hot Rod Trophy for the fastest time of the meet.
