Newbern Goes 211 MPH in a Trans Am In Arkansas at the East Coast Timing Association Races!

Going over 200 miles per hour is something special, regardless of where it happens, and once you go after that kind of speeds you just can’t stop. This is why David Newbern had to make changes to the Trans Am that he and Cotten built for Faster with Newbern and Cotten last year after they came up just short. When MotorTrend offered up all the old project cars, Newbern knew the Trans Am had to be one of them that he took home.

But he didn’t just take it back out and aim for 200 again, he did some work to make some real changes to the power. Check out the results in the video below.

Video Description:

Welcome to Newbern’s Garage!

In this episode, we hit the road to Blytheville, Arkansas for the ECTA Arkansas Mile — and this one’s personal. Last year, we filmed an episode of Faster with Newbern and Cotten pushing a Pontiac Trans Am to hit that legendary 200 mph mark.

We came close… but didn’t quite make it.

Well, I bought that very Trans Am from MotorTrend, put in some serious work, and brought it back for a second shot.

This time? We crushed it — hitting a jaw-dropping 211 mph! Stick around to see how it all went down.
