We’ve got our final gallery of tractor pulling photos from David Whealon right here, from the North Carolina State Fair’s Southern Showdown event. If you have never been to a tractor pull and seen these National Tractor Pulling Association tractors running, then you are missing out. Many of these racers here also hail from the United Pullers of the Carolinas, but regardless they are top notch and fun to watch. David got us a bunch of photos again, and we so appreciate it. If you missed the first gallery from yesterday, use the link below to check that one out too. And as always, if you click on any photo in the gallery it will get big on your screen and allow you to scroll through the entire gallery like a slide show.
(Words and Photos by David Whealon) Well, we’re back on our yearly stop for the “Southern Showdown” at the North Carolina State Fair with some of the best NTPA/ UPOC pullers in the country showing up for their final exhibition of the 2024 season. The four-session, three-day event was packed slam full with competitors pulling in ten classes with two chances at the hook of go or blow nonstop action.
For some pullers it’s probably a good thing that they have all winter to pick up the busted parts and pieces and do what every racer is committed to do in the long offseason……get stronger for the next upcoming season. This show did not fail to disappoint any of the diehard pullin’ fans that took a break from all the excessive revelry that they experience while attending “The Fair”.
The State Fair is the perfect venue to attract new fans and give public recognition to an awesome form of motorsport that it so legitimately deserves.
