Some folks like their cars loud and aggressive, with an idle that can be felt and a howl that sends children running for cover. Others like having a quiet sleeper of a car that doesn’t make much noise at all. But for most of us, we lie somewhere in the middle: when we put our foot to the floor, we want the noise and cacophony but if we’re just tooling around town running errands, it would be nice to hear the stereo or to have a conversation without straining your vocal cords. The bi-modal exhaust system is quiet when it needs to be and comes on strong when you want to go play, as we’ve found in late model Corvettes and Camaros. Well, thanks to Hooker, you can now have that same kind of symphony in your car with the BlackHeart Attitude Adjuster.

Here’s how it works: the Attitude Adjuster’s system comes with an electronic controller that can be mapped out to determine just how much bark you want coming from the pipes. To keep things quiet, the flap stays closed. To have the neighbors march on city hall against you, leave the valve open. But in between those two extremes, you can stick with the three standard modes (Touring, Sport and Race) or you can detail a map that ramps up the fun factor depending on how you’re driving the car.
