(Photos: Mårten Carlsson) We are grateful to Mårten Carlsson for sharing his photos of the ACCS Power Vårmarknad meet at Lidköping Arena in Sweden, and Arlid Guldbrandsen for tipping us off. From BangShift’s start, we’ve been interested in what gearheads are doing worldwide, and we love to see the scene from Northern Europe for two reasons: they have some of the most unique tastes in the world (as well as what might be the biggest collection of 1950s era American automobiles outside of the United States), and they drive them. Not “drive them onto a trailer, haul a few kilometers, unload and park”…they sincerely get in, fire up the V8, sink into the seat, grab the huge steering wheel and, as Roland LeBay loved to do in Christine, “motorvate”. These guys have the right idea on how to properly enjoy a car…keep it up, but drive it and enjoy it, and let others have a chance to see it every now and then.
