When I first saw this listing I thought it was a good looking 1966 Impala project and then I read the description and looked at the rest of the pictures. That’s when this listing started making me think. You see, the roof on this Impala is partially caved in and rusted out, and so is the area surrounding the windshield, and also an area on top of the quarter panel under the B pillar. Of course, this rust had me thinking about what could have caused it and that made me put on my CSI hat, but not before looking at how straight this car is. Everything but the roof is in great shape, including the grill, all the trim, and so much more!
Looking at this one, I think the most likely scenario is that this car was sitting somewhere, partially covered, where it was getting real wet and the cover held the water in. Of course the dent didn’t help either.
What do you think happened to it?

If that was a 250 straight-six 69 Camaro they would want $45k firm for it.
As a person who has restored many 65 and 66 Impala’s, the price is a little high. I have a body right now that the bottom is totally gone, but the roof/windshield frame and B pillars are good. They would match fine and have a good start to a wonderful hotrod. Depends how much you want to do, how deep you want to go.
