The Ford Mustang spawns “special editions” better than any other car currently in production (except maybe for the Bugatti Veyron, but that’s a completely different ball game). We know that Ford-Shelby, Shelby American, Roush, Steeda, and Saleen are all spooling up their special editions, and you can add another name to the list: Petty’s Garage. Yes, as in that Petty.There will be two versions of the Petty’s Garage Mustangs: 100 “Stage 1” cars will be available in any color, and 43 “Stage 2” cars will be in the signature black/Petty Blue color with HPE wheels and Wilwood brakes. All of the cars will be tuned by Roush to produce 627hp from a supercharged 5.0L V8 and will wear unique front and rear facia treatments.
Oh, and there are only 42 Stage 2 cars left. The first one was purchased by Brian Johnson, the frontman for AC/DC, his first American vehicle purchase. “This Mustang has just taken my breath away. It really is one of the best cars I’ve ever driven. I didn’t have an American car, but I do now!”
Maybe they can build a very limited edition Danica Patrick version!
