It’s Halloween, that time of year where it is, for the most part, perfectly acceptable to do virtually anything in the manner of the arts. Want to dress up like Sonic the Hedgehog while you walk with your equally dressed-up kids throughout the neighborhood to trick-or-treat? Go for it! Want to scare random passers-by mildly? Do what you can handle, but we have to suggest that you refrain from going whole hog like the owners of this Toyota Supra did.
Kevin and Krysten Negrotto put together this diorama that had the Supra pinning a “zombie” up against a tree like a fake crime scene, complete with blood splatters and the whole nine yards. As someone who has put together Haunted House attractions, I kind of dig the creativity behind it, but if you think the neighborhood, as a whole, thought this was a good idea…yeaaaah, no. The Negrottos have gotten complaints and tons of attention over the senseless death of the fake brain-eater, and even with some recent additions to help emphasize the “zombie” part, there is still plenty of backlash from parents who are afraid that it’s either the real deal or that children might be scarred for life after seeing the scene.
Remember: no blood splatter on cars, no Free Candy vans, and no clowns. Be smart this Halloween.
