Just In Time For Christmas, The Vertu For Bentley Smartphone. Any Guesses On The Price?

Just In Time For Christmas, The Vertu For Bentley Smartphone. Any Guesses On The Price?

Nevermind we haven’t made it past the jack o’lanterns, the turkey or the pumpkin pie, because we are closing in on The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year for shopping. No matter what you feel about it, the Christmas season is coming up fast and it’s time to start considering gifts for all of the people on your list. Toys for the kids, stuff from Williams-Sonoma for the wife, a five-year subscription to Cat Fancy for that one brother of yours and of course that list of parts that you have in the garage. But what if you have that one friend that has it all. You know what I’m talking about: You can’t buy for them because they already have it all. Their home is so nicely decorated that you are honestly afraid to breathe, lest you upset a picture frame. His watch costs more than your two-year-old Tahoe. And in the garage sits his Bentley Continental, his baby. This is a car you’ve only seen, never have been in. You know just how much it costs and you know why he owns it: so everybody knows that he’s well off and that he’s willing to pay to be different than those who buy Mercedes and BMW’s.

Well, should you have $17,100 burning a hole in your pocket and an unbelievable desire to make someone’s Christmas absolutely awesome, you could either take care of pretty much all of your family’s Christmas desires, or you could instead show Mr. Wonderful there that someone can indeed find him a gift by purchasing him a smartphone. Bear with me, it’s not just any smartphone: It’s the new Signature Touch Vertu for Bentley, and it’s exquisite. I’ll let Vertu’s description explain it:

The unmistakable Vertu for Bentley has a knurled, Grade 5 titanium casing and a sleek quilted trim to match Bentley styling. With a Grade 5 titanium, engine-turned back plate, echoing Bentley’s instrument panel, this edition also carries a forged metal winged Bentley badge and contains exclusive Bentley content. The fine attention to detail is carried through to the screws, modelled on the air vents of Bentley’s automobiles. It’s wrapped in diamond-stitched, quilted calf leather, crafted by one of Europe’s oldest tanneries using traditional methods. As a result your Vertu is individual and may differ slightly to what you see here.

Translation: It’s a touchscreen smartphone that costs as much as a great used car. You can make the purchase if you want, but good luck selling your significant other on the fact that you just spent over $17K on a phone for your friend. Hope that couch is comfy.

does it come with a strait jacket? Anybody stupid enough to drop that on a mobile phone needs one…. honestly I don’t understand my kids wanting $800 phones let alone this… my mobile, the most basic Samsung there is, cost me $19 brand new. Its 3 years old and lasts 10 days between charges, makes phone calls and does nothing else…honestly, whats next? 3 grand toasters that have wifi and arse wipers?
