Craigslist Score: A 1982 AMC Eagle SX/4 That Is Ready To Rock! 390 Power For The Win!

Yes…yes, yes, so much YES! The only downside I can find with today’s Craigslist score is that I can’t afford to drag it home right this very instant…if I could, I’d be hauling ass to Detroit right now! And yes, all of that over a 1982 AMC Eagle SX/4…but that’s because this is not only the way I’ve wanted to have one of these neat little all-wheel-drive coupes, but because it is THIS VERY CAR that has been the base of all of my imaginary builds. Lifted up, BFG All Terrains, and an AMC 390 hooked to a Chrysler 727. Okay, maybe the automatic transmission wasn’t in the plan, but I won’t complain. Expecially not when the whole car is ‘caged, has four-wheel disc brakes, 4.10 gears in both axles, and brand new Corbeau seat installed…I can overlook one detail for that amount of win right there!

With SCCA logbooks and plenty of documents and history on the car ready to go out the door with it, seeing this Eagle sitting for just $7,000 surprises me. But then again, the seller is pretty clear that not everything is perfect, and that you will at least need new, date-coded harnesses in order to be competitive, but does that matter? Nope. It’s a big-block AMC Eagle coupe that looks ready to take on the world…”here, little Subaru!”

    Here little Subaru indeed!

This beast could also eat Audi Quatros! In the UK there would be no car at all that could live with it in historic rallying – but it needs a manual transmission to be competitive.

GAH! I want it! I want it! It would be great for cruising the desert! Not the crazy rocky stuff…but there are so many Jeep trails and dirt roads that I would love to explore with it….although…I would ad A/C….

That is the ultimate ralley car ( OK it could use a manual trans) and the price for a car that is 90% ready.

I saw that thing at Roadkill Nights at the Pontiac Silverdome, and you can see it in the Roadkill Episode that was shot there also. Freiburger and Finnegan checked it out. That’s where the bottom picture was taken, and it was for sale then too, for $8500.
