BangShift Project Files: We Check In On A 1966 Ford F-100 Packing A 427 Side-Oiler!

When we say we have all manner of builds in the BangShift forums, we mean it. From my low-buck junk to Hemi Joel’s seriously high-end Duesenberg straight-eight rebuild and everything in between, we’ve seen plenty to keep any depraved gearhead busy clicking page after page for hours on end. And the twin projects that “EcoBoostedF100” brings to the table are no different. He’s effectively the guy we all wish we were…project after project, all badass, all worthy. Per his name, one of the Fords is powered by the guts of a late-model F-150, and we highly suggest you check out the entire project thread to see the amount of work that took to put together so that it could be a sweet daily driver. You can also see one of the most perfect black paint jobs we’ve seen on his daughter’s Ford Bronco. But here, we are going to simply direct your attention to the other 1966 F-100. This one has been the long-term project, having been around nearly two decades. When we first met the truck back in the fall of 2014, it looked like a race support vehicle circa 1967: shallow Cragars at the corners, a 427 Ford underhood, and not much giving away the secret.

We can tell you that the truck isn’t a sleeper anymore. We can also tell you that this is one of the most bitchin’ projects going in the Forums right now. Do yourself a favor, check it out and pay attention to the amount of detail work that is put into every vehicle this guy gets his hands on. It is absolutely unreal.

I stop by BangShift for my daily dose of Iron to get my fix to keep ME motivated and what do I see but my 427 Powered F-100! I really appreciate the article and comments. Just a backyard guy who has \”hobbies\”. Goal was to have it running/driving for the get away veh in my daughters wedding a couple weeks from now. Struggling health issues not going to make it but will be sure to give updates as I have them. (The photo of Aluminum Block is for the 540\” TT B9)
