We covered the eBay auction of the Dodge Viper SRT-10 Bravado Banshee when the car was on eBay last July. It wasn’t too surprising that the car didn’t sell, even with the bidding cresting over $100,000, because the owner had been told by Rockstar Games, the maker of the Grand Theft Auto series that the Banshee is from, and West Coast Customs, the builder of the real-life Banshee, that the car was worth about $180,000. What we didn’t know at the time was who owned the worked-over Viper, which was part of a giveaway promotion that Rockstar Games held in 2008. Would you believe that 56-year-old Cheri Parker was the legal owner? After her son Austin used her credit card to purchase the game, her name was entered into the drawing and because she was the legal cardholder, she became the legal owner. While the car had been a blast to drive, the decision was made to put the Banshee up for sale to raise the money needed to send Austin to college. After this interview was recorded, the Banshee was sold last month on eBay for $45,200. Somebody outright stole that car…
