SEMA 2009 Parts Spotlight: Painless Performance

Painless Performance Products is known for having top-quality, easy-to-install parts, and at this year’s SEMA show they brought out several new products that continue that tradition. For LS-motored hot rods and muscle cars, Painless has come up with the PERFECT Hi-Velocity 95mm throttle body for LS2, LS3, and LS7. Why is this news? Because this throttle body is mechanical rather than electric, which means you can buy a motor from the wrecking yard and not worry about the hassle of dealing with a throttle-by-wire setup. Instead, you get to use a traditional cable, which makes installation a snap.

For hot rod and muscle car enthusiasts who want all the convenience of a modern car, Painless has developed a convenience module, which enables automatic headlights, dome-light control, and radio delay. It seems a bit sophisticated for one of our hot rods, but if you have a $100,000 street machine, maybe you need it.

Our favorite new Painless product by far is the PERFECT EFI System for Ford flatheads. Available for both 2- and 3-deuce intakes, the system uses Painless’ own 4.0-liter Jeep throttle bodies. They are offered in polished black and natural billet to fit with any look. This system maintains the cool look of a traditional flathead but with the tunability and driveability of EFI. The systems come complete with throttle bodies, fuel lines, fuel rails, linkage, wiring harness, and ECM. Everything you need to inject your flathead.
