A few weeks ago Ridetech President and Owner Bret Voelkel sent me an email asking me what I thought of a new program that he wanted to launch where any Ridetech shocks bought after January 1, 2013 would get a 1,000,001 mile warranty. No fine print, no bullshit, just the real deal. I wrote the following back to him. “I think it’s great. It says “Ridetech is committed to the quality of our products, and the satisfaction of our customers, so we have taken all the bullshit out of the typical warranty and will stand behind our customers no questions asked for as long as they are willing to drive their hot rod.” Bret commented “I’m really happy with this new program…it truly takes all the B.S out of a shock purchase. It’s a big commitment…1,000,001 miles is a long time…but we’re truly THAT comfortable with the quality and durability of these new shocks. The architecture has proven itself for performance and durability in the harshest of environments and we’ve worked hard on the calibration for customers musclecars, streetrods, cruisers, and tow vehicles.”
It couldn’t be more simple, and the warranty goes for all of Ridetech’s Struts, Shockwaves, Coilovers, and the New Q-Series Direct Replacement shocks.
Here is what Ridetech sent us for the announcement.

As a reflection of the radical improvements in performance and durability that RideTech has implemented in their shock program over the last 3 years, all RideTech shocks sold after January 1,2013 will carry a 1,000,001 mile warranty!
Why? – From RideTech president Bret Voelkel: “In partnering with the engineers at Fox, we’ve been able to see dramatic improvements in the handling performance, ride quality and durability of our entire shock line. At this point all RideTech shocks…ShockWaves, Coilovers, Struts, and the new Q Series Smoothbody shocks use this new monotube platform. This 1,000,001 mile warranty is a demonstration of our confidence in this program.”
Details…

All I can think of when I hear this million mile plus warranty bs is Chris Farley’s line in “Tommy Boy” about giving a warranty. Something about taking a dump in a box…?
Who drives a street rod or even their daily drive for a million miles? This only gives them the “right” to charge more for their product.
…but we didn’t raise the price! At all. For the last three years!
