There has never been a better time to be in the market for tools. Whether you are looking for shop tools, hand tools, or machinery, there has never been a more diverse offering on the market. No matter what your budget, you can find tools that fit it. With that said, sometimes if you want a bad ass shop tool you have to make it or modify it yourself. I love shop made tools, big or small, so there is a part of me that really digs this project here. The object is to take a cheap Harbor Freight sheet metal brake and modify it so that it is a much nicer, fancier, and more capable shop tool.
Watch as this guy makes his own fingers, modifies and strengthens the frame of the machine, and more. Nothing about these mods is expensive, but they do require paying attention if you want this new pan and box brake to work right when done. But I sure think this one turned out pretty nice looking, don’t you?
