The 2015 Shelby Super Snake: 750 Horsepower And An Optional Roll Cage

The 2015 Shelby Super Snake: 750 Horsepower And An Optional Roll Cage

(Photos: Shelby American) We’re losing track of how many Mustangs are rolling out with the word “Shelby” attached to them, so for simplicity’s sake, understand that there are two veins: The GT350 and GT350R are made in-house by Ford Motor Company. The very angry piece you are seeing here is not made by Ford, but is made by Shelby American. What’s the difference? At this point, not much. Both variations have the kind of performance that will eliminate even the oldest gentleman’s need for a little blue pill, looks that drop jaws from ages 5-95, and handling like a cat on carpet. And the noise they make…oh, that siren’s scream that somehow draws you in and makes you beg for more…yes, folks, that glorious noise is present and accounted for.

The Super Snake has been the top-tier for late model Shelby Mustangs ever since 2007, and has always pushed horsepower numbers in the eye-watering level. This generation is no different, with Shelby American gearing the car to be a better all-arounder instead of just a straight-line wonder car. The Super Snake starts life as either a manual or automatic-equipped Mustang GT with a Ford Racing supercharger before Shelby American gets ahold of it, where the entire Ford Racing suspension catalog gets thrown at it, along with a short-throw shifter for the manual cars, Borla exhaust, Weld Racing wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and Wilwood six-piston brakes. And that’s just the base model. The options list is the kind of stuff dreams are made of:

  • 750+hp Whipple or Kenne Bell supercharger
  • Differential and Transmission Cooling Kits
  • Wilwood 4-Piston Rear Brake Kit
  • Adjustable Rear Control Arm
  • Brake Duct Kit
  • Camber/Caster Plates
  • Upholstery Upgrade
  • Racing Seats
  • 5-Point Harness
  • Shelby Engine Valve Cover
  • Carbon Fiber Latch Cover

Now, for the pricing. A 2015 Shelby American Super Snake starts out at $49,995 and tops out at $54,999…on top of the purchase price of a 2015 Ford Mustang GT, which is about $33,000 before you go nuts with the Ford options. That puts you somewhere near $90,000 for what ends up as a race-ready stomper graced with the name of the humble chicken farmer himself. Is it expensive? Yep. Is it fast? Hell yes. Is it worth it? That call is up to you, friend, but with only 300 being made, you might want to make that call very, very soon.

Wanted : long term, interest free, $100,000 loan with immediate funds availability or directly deposited with Shelby American. Screw politics I need a billionaire to find my PAC( Performance Automobile Compulsion ) C’mon people I need this car way worse than some of these idiots need to be President-(I’m looking at YOU Trump….)

    Screw a loan!

    I’ve got a do-it-yourself money-making kit – sawn-off shot gun and a ski mask!

This is THE most awesome car ever to have the old chicken farmer’s name on it – 750 HP puts ALL supercars to shame. $90,000 in England equates to about £75000 so its a bit cheaper but I’ll shall we say still be making an unscheduled withdrawal from a number of banks…
