The Nitrous Express Duramax Diesel Mustang Goes 205 at the Texas Mile!

The Nitrous Express Duramax Diesel Mustang Goes 205 at the Texas Mile!

The Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week class winning, Nitrous Express DuraMax Diesel powered SN95 Mustang ran 205 miles per hour this past weekend at the Texas Mile Land Speed Event to become the National Association of Diesel Motorsports World Record holder in the standing mile. Mike Wood and the entire crew have worked really hard to give this killer DuraMax more boost and all the nitrous it can handle. And it turns out, that is A LOT of nitrous.

Nitrous works differently in a diesel, but if you were to rate the amount going through this DuraMax, like you would in a gasoline engine, it would be somewhere north of 1500 horsepower worth of spray. Around here we call Nitrous the “Happy Button”, and that is a whole lotta happy. Sign us up.

Congrats to Mike, the entire Nitrous Express family, and the diesel community in general. 205 is a big number, and it couldn’t happen to nicer guys. We’ve had the pleasure of following Mike across country on multiple Hot Rod Magazine Drag Weeks and can tell you that this Mustang is a real driver. In fact, Mike drives the car from Witchita Falls Texas to Drag Week, and back every year.

Im so glad that these diesels are getting put into other cars & trucks other than what they were intended for. I build a 1966 gmc 1/2 ton 4×4 with a lly duramax, allison trans, still stock, the motor only has 120ks.What you built with that mustang is so great;how good is the 4l80e trans holding up on all of that power
    Thanks from Canada
