Is it strange that the novelty of writing for you guys hasn’t worn off yet? It’s been three years since Brian and Chad gave me a shot to put posts up on the page, and since then I’ve had nothing short of a ball. I’ve shot great cars, I’ve met great people, I’ve traveled great distances, and it’s broadened my horizons on both what I enjoy out of the hobby that we all share and what I hope to accomplish in the future, and I’m looking forward to what 2017 will bring for BangShift. I honestly can’t explain how excited I am that we are going to cover the Coffeyville Street Drags out in Kansas, and we have plenty of events lined up throughout the year that we always look forward to.
But as I was out in the shop earlier tonight, getting the Mustang ready for some rear brake work, I couldn’t help but wonder something: if I wasn’t on this side of the screen, typing things out for you to read…if I was still in the Forums, what would I want to see from BangShift? And that, readers, is where I’m asking for some input, because I have to face facts at some point: it’s great to have vision and creativity on your own, but sometimes a third-person view can be helpful in bringing up an idea that you may have never thought of before.
Here’s what I’m expecting for the year: there will be the show and race coverage we’ve always had. There will be Livestreamed events. I might have a roadtrip or two planned that will allow me to travel some, but those are still in the works…but I’m intending on . I still want to go out to my personal favorite haunts, like the Somerset Cruise-In and some track days at the NCM Motorsports Park. There is still some small work planned for the Angry Grandpa Chrysler (though it won’t be anywhere near as intensive as what we did here a few months back) and we are hard at work behind the scenes preparing the Great Pumpkin Mustang for some fresh-from-the-‘yard goodies. We might even make another trip out to the Short Street Rod Shop and see what’s new out there.
Now is your chance to speak up: what do you want to see? Do you want more detailed updates when we work on a project car? Do you want the three of us on a Livestream at an event cutting up and sharing the experience with you? Do you just want us to open up Lohnes’ head for more interesting and historical knowledge, or to see us actually go out and race cars? This is your opportunity to provide your input!

No more Australian tire burnout competitions and no drifting coverage. Of course if there is any carnage videos during either of these 2 types of events, have at it. Love to see stupidity in action.
I used to enjoy when the guys did “Powershift” It would be nice to see that revived in some form.
Over in the Tech forum there’s a tech story request thread stickied. Maybe tackle some of those?
Bang Shift has all these sponsors. Maybe some stories of their product in use?
You guys do an incredible job, agree on the no burnout-drifting stuff. Get your cars to the track (Chad!) and do stories about adventures at the races please.BS has some great sponsors (personally use many of their products, will buy more this year), new products and tech stuff from them would be good. Have a great 2017 and enjoy what you do. Thanks
Many of ur followers are into or building interesting gearhead things
Perhaps some scrutinized input from them would be good
Brian, plan on doing anymore upgrades to the 9C1? Haven’t seen anything on the car in awhile.
Also Bryan keep going with the “Great Pumpkin”. Really thinking about getting a fox 5.0.
Kinda tired of pics of pretty (and not so pretty) cars and burnout vids. Really enjoyed updates of you guys working on your own cars and then going out and racing/driving them and seeing the results.
I like the Lohnes family outing challenge. You guys should do more stuff like that. Or “Tales from the road” like a short segment on adventures that happened to people while driving. Like Charles Kurault kinda stuff.
I agree with the others on the down under burnouts and drifting. I personally don’t see what either are all about ,anyway. You covered drag week real well . How about get with some of last years 2nd 3rd and 4th place guys. See what they are doing to try to win this year. And anything at drag week that is NOT Chevy powered.Go into the campground at Bowling Green Ky. During the Hot Rod Reunion. Its part of the drag strip .There is a lot of wild stuff that goes on in the camp ground after dark . And get people to do stories on the obscure gear head stuff. Look up rototiller racing out of Arkansas . That shit is nuts look it up on You Tube . Just a few . I look ,and go through this web sight every day . And thank you for Christmas and Thanksgiving day . Keep up the Great work . Us true gear heads need to see what others are up to
Cover an AMCA motorcycle show. Hundreds of antique bikes converge on Rhinebeck New York every year in June. It’s amazing!!!
