Barbie Jeep Racing is a bit off the mark for BangShift, we will admit, but think of it like wrestling: Your entertainment involves someone else’s pain, and everybody is happy to participate in their fair share of the fun. Remember, these guys and gals are volunteering to straddle a toy meant for a kid that’s only so big, just to ride it down a steep dirt hill, surely risking some road rash and possibly a bit more for a bit of glory, maybe a little bit of cash, and certainly a donated beer or two if they make the carnage look absolutely epic. It’s blowing off steam for the off-road crowd and it’s a not-so-secret guilty pleasure of ours. Sometimes you just gotta stop with the competition and have a little fun, and if that involves a 250-pound guy riding a toy Escalade down the hill as far as he can before he ends up face-first in the dirt with the plastic Caddy falling on top of him, so be it!
