It’s a sinking feeling when you do it, but if you want to see the most busted driver in recent memory, look no further than 24-year-old Jake Patching. Patching was trying to beat a yellow light when he kicked the tail out on his car and tried to drift through a highway intersection in Brisbane. That first lesson? Don’t overdrive your abilities. Patching gets loose beyond loose, and after fishtailing and nearly finding himself off of the road, and loops it in the center of the highway. That’s bad enough, but then there’s lesson #2: don’t do stupid shit in front of the cops! As the dash cam of a rather amused tow truck driver shows, the van that was sitting at the light was a police vehicle, whose occupants were none too pleased with what they just witnessed. Remember, this is Australia…this is not only reckless driving, but it’s also an affront to proper citizen’s behavior, and the laws are designed as such. So how screwed over is Mr. Jake Patching? Besides losing his car for 90 days, he’s due in court in a couple of weeks to face charges of willfully making unnecessary noise or smoke, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving uninsured.
