The British and Mexico haven’t had the best of relationships. There have been trade disagreements, expropriation of properties, and of course that one time that Richard Hammond from TopGear shoved his foot deep within the confines of his mouth over his comments about the country south of Texas. But that’s government work and an overzealous presenter making a crack…go to Mexico sometime, especially Baja California during one particular time of the year, and if you have any inclination towards anything automotive, you will find plenty to love. Yes, there’s the geography, the rugged beauty of miles of sand, saguaro cacti and surf. Yes, there is the food and the drink. But there is the Baja.
Carfection, if you are unaware, are British. They’ve done quite a bit, from wringing out Porsches on road courses to turning a toy store into an impromptu race course. What they haven’t done, until now, was to strap themselves into a Subaru-powered off-roader to gather a taste of what a racer running the Baja 1000 could experience on their trip down the peninsula. Mind the colorful language (that’s beeped out), and for the love of all that’s holy, somebody get this guy some ibuprofen. He’s gonna need it.
