We joke about thrashing the life out of a beater often, but how many of you have actually done it? We’re not talking a mild romp on a dirt road, either…we mean thrash, with extreme prejudice, for the sake of entertainment and, if you need to console a conscience about such things, a torture test to prove how strong the vehicle of choice really is. I’ve done it, I loved every second of it, and given the opportunity, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. I fell in love with Tuff Truck racing on that principle: sure, competition is great and yes, there are some awesome drivers that deserve to be recognized and given a seat in something more respectable, but that isn’t quite the spirit of the series. Tuff Truck is a combination of showing off and survival, and if you do that, you will own the crowd, and that’s half the battle. The other half of the battle? Don’t slip on a concrete barrier and smash your bait and tackle on the way down. No amount of champagne from the bottle is going to sedate that kind of pain.
