Our friends at Dragpix.net.au were streaming live from a race in Portland, Victoria, Australia yesterday and caught an amazing on track crash where Supercharged Outlaws Racer Mick Mahoney crashes his Ford Capri BAD. Mick was reported to have walked away with only minor bumps and bruises, but will race another day. The Dragpix cameras were rolling and Mick’s Capri crashed into the wall right in front of them, and in fact knocked one of them over.
The Capri that Mick was driving is said to a be a new car, which makes this that much worse. As Mick approaches the 330 ft mark the car seems to wash out slightly and then come right around hitting the opposite guardrail head on. By that point the car was almost upside down already.
The crash is crazy and is shown in real time and slow motion, so check it out. It’s a testament to the safety that is built into these cars, and we applaud the builder.

Too much HP for that chassis, maybe ? Looks like it was all twisted up and he likely steered left a little to counter it…gone. Glad he’s OK, not trying to be mean, just an observation.
