As long as there is racing, there will be crashes. For some people, that’s the entire point of watching racing in the first place, to see the carnage. We don’t necessarily like to celebrate a crash that just rattled a driver’s nerves and wrecked thousands of dollars invested into a race car, but the fact is that crashes are inevitable, and it doesn’t hurt to review why they happened so that lessons can be learned. For some, they simply drive beyond their abilities. Others were the unfortunate victims of circumstance. You will see impacts caused by parts failures, technical driving failure, and less than ideal conditions. The last clip, however, is easily the most frightening, because it isn’t a crash, per se…but it would be enough to make a race car driver think about retirement quickly. Just keep in mind…this is Part Three of a series that is only for 2015. That’s a lot of twisted metal.
