There aren’t many Youtube videos that make me visibly flinch, but trust me, this is one of them. Watching a fully-loaded cement truck roll over and barrel towards the camera has been known to have that effect on me.
Two things come to mind after watching this clip:
1. I’d love to install a dash cam, but I’m getting the sneaking suspicion that this sort of stuff only happens to people that have dash cams installed and I don’t know if I need that kind of excitement in my life at this time.
2. I’m impressed by how the Toyota Sienna held up in the crash, although I have a feeling that the driver wouldn’t have faired quite as well if he had been a little further into the intersection.

A case of the wrong place at the wrong time for the mini van driver. A case of the dumb ass for the truck driver.
Damn! The cement trucks running around southern California were notorious for failing DOT inspections, particularly on brake adjustments and every time I saw one coming up on an intersection I wondered if it was going to stop.
And Dave, I think you DO need that kind of excitement in you life, get a dash cam!
Watch the white pickup on the left in the first few seconds.
If the cement truck had the right of way he was avoiding the white pickup.

Watch both the white truck and the black car. Both were in the intersection. The cement truck was running the light.
Just for clarification: It’s not a dump truck or a cement truck, it’s a CONCRETE truck. Cement is just one of the 4 ingredients in concrete. Just ’cause Jed Clampett called it a “Ceement pond” doesn’t mean you all have to get it wrong for the next 20 years!
The only people that know that are the ones that get to play in it while it’s wet, not everybody’s perfect.
A goombah in my town recently hung a 90 degree left turn in a Pelican street cleaner and was going too fast.
He put ‘er on the roof in a counter-clockwise spin.
It was like he was breakdancing on company time,with a company vehicle.
