You know what the beautiful part of the pulling sled? It doesn’t matter what you hook to it, there will be a crowd around waiting to see what happens next. It’s kind of a solid bet when a tractor or a diesel truck hooks up, but when somebody wheels up a 1988 Mercury station wagon out of the blue and hooks up like it’s an average Tuesday night, that’s no longer just a competitor at a sled pull, that’s an event! Or when the dude from the mine brings a dump truck just to really prove a point and ends up hauling the weight halfway to the next county before, that’s a pretty badass night for everyone in the stands…right up until the event organizers have to get the dump truck driver to haul the sled back for the next round. Tracked tractors, turbines, radial engines and more motorized freaks hook to the weight in this video, all of which hope to make that magic 300 foot mark. What works and what doesn’t? Well…we’re kind of partial to the fire-breathing tractor sporting twin Allison mills ourselves. But which one worked for you?
