Driving Past Amber Waves Of Grain: An Overview Of Cleetus’s RMRW 2020 By Project Priime

Rocky Mountain Race Week is still echoing in the back of our minds. With the news yesterday that Hot Rod Magazine’s Drag Week is canned until next year, there’s many who are looking at the action we enjoyed last month not only as a potential option but as an inspiration. Somehow, several hundred people and a few hundred cars managed to roam around the country and run five races without anybody getting sick…at least, last we checked, nobody wound up with the ‘Rona afterwards. If you don’t think that people aren’t looking at a possible encore performance, think again…there’s potential if details can be worked out. Will we be racing? Honestly, probably not. The only race-worthy car at BS Mid-West, Angry Grandpa, needs some work done before it goes back to the track, the Rough Start Fox has an engine in the bay but it doesn’t have a transmission and it hasn’t barked, and four bolts are kicking my ass on the Great Pumpkin. (I won’t speak for Chad.)

RMRW 2020 was everything I hoped it would be. I had been looking forward to going on a route and this year proved that my anticipation was dead-on right. When my only wish from the whole week was “I’d rather be racing than working”, it’s a good deal. The routes are well thought out, the tracks did their part, and the people along the way had a ball, even in this Twilight Zone year we’re living in. If you really wanted proof, this video is for you. This is an overview video that focuses on the whole atmosphere, the scenery, everything that RMRW entails. This is to whet an appetite, whether for a potential second round this year or for next year.
