The spoof ad. We’ve seen these on Craigslist before, where someone with comedy chops puts an absolute crap-can of a car up for sale with a killer writeup to go along with it. This particular eBay listing follows that mold, but instead of a car, it’s for a car part…the gas tank from a 1969 Camaro that looks like it was dropped out of the car in 1971 and left to rot since. Forget savable, there’s barely enough metal left to warrant a tetanus shot. But don’t let that temper the seller’s enthusiasm for his pile of…um…gold?
This is an all original OEM gas tank from a 1969 Camaro. This is an all original ROS part (Rusty Old Sh*t). Has some slight surface rust, but I am sure can be easily fixed with a little bondo. This is not some cheap reproduction made from thin cheap chinese or taiwan steel that will rust out quickly. This is a genuine USA made all steel tank made from actual American hematite that will take over 40 years to rust out like this. Sending unit is not included, but is also genuine GM factory ROS and is available at an additional cost. The sending unit is the same one used on the SS327 COPO and is a one of a kind prototype that is guaranteed to add at least 500 HP to your Camaro engine, so make an offer quickly if you want to own the rare high performance factory part. These parts come with a guarantee certification, signed by my uncle Harvey, who knew a guy that had a friend that worked in the GM engineering division. I have other Camaro parts from the same car that are in just as good condition if you are interested.I bought this hoping to one day install it in my Camaro, but I just could not stand the thought of installing this extremely nice and all original very rare part in my daily driver. I paid over a million dollars for this just last year on ebay. I was told it could only go up in value. I would be willing to sell for less than half what I paid. My loss is your gain. At this price, this part will NOT last long. Then again, regardless of price, this part will still not last long…so hurry up and bid now.
Please note, due to the fragile nature of this part, I will not ship overseas, or out of the state, or next door. Pick up only (if it can be picked up without falling apart). You may come to see the part in person, however, I recommend that you get a tet-anus shot before handling.
The 1969 Camaro is the most popular Camaro of them all, and this tank is a “must have” for anyone looking to install a factory GM gas tank in their 1969 Camaro. Just think of what your friends or show car enthusiasts will say when they see this all original gas tank installed in your pristine restored all numbers matching Camaro. I guarantee this gas tank to be 100% factory original and NOT a cheap reproduction that will look horrible and rust out in no time. If you have any questions, please ask. Serious bidders only. Low starting reserve price. Bid now before this rare opportunity is gone for good. Please note: Leaves are not included, tank only. Thanks for looking.

(Thanks to Jason Kern for the tip!)
Remember the camaro that was found in the bottom of a lake with the bodies in it? Looks like someone’s finally parting it out….
I wonder what a tet-anus shot is?
Is this guys completely nuts? I mean, c’mon, starting price of $10K?
Not worth a penny over $5,000. He needs to get real…
