Video: Urban Outlaw – An Unbelievably Well Done Story Of A Hot Rodders LIfe

The description of this video says “URBAN OUTLAW is a portrait of Magnus Walker, the rebel Porsche customizer who turned a hobby into an obsession, and an obsession into a successful business. From a workshop in downtown Los Angeles, Magnus obsessively harvests fragments from donor 911s, grafting them onto vintage frames to create one-off automobiles with the spirit of Ferdinand Porsche but an ethos entirely his own.” The video shows all those things.

It also shows a jillion other things. It’s greatness. I love this video. It’s 30+ minutes long, but you’ll still want to watch it multiple times. I want to live like this guy. I want to build cars like this guy. I want to live near this guy. “But wait Chad” you say. “He builds Porsche’s!” you say. “How is he a hot rodder?” you ask.

If Magnus built and restored John Deere tractors with this kind of attitude, passion, and drive, I would would still feel the same. Magnus is like no one else, and yet just like each of us who is passionate about ’32 Fords, ’69 Camaros, or ’55 Chevys. He’s a hot rodder.

Watch it.

    I completely agree, Chad.

I like the way he’s “hot rodded” his Porsches in a way that even make the purists excited.

And the shop and environmment, wow.

I agree. The man is a hot rodder. The 911 is a very special car. Especially the older cars from the late 60’s and 70’s. They were simple and powerful. A kind of car that you can easily “become one” with. You knew what it can do and what you can make it do and if you didnt overstep its boundries you were safe. Magnus lives a great life.
