Joe Rogan Tosses The Keys To His Pure Vision-built 1965 Corvette Restomod To Jay Leno – Supercharger Whine For Days!

Joe Rogan…host of Fear Factor, UFC commentator, comic, martial artist, and apparently a car nut. Who knew? Rogan is the owner of this beautiful 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray roadster, and it is a beautiful piece…you can tell that the money was well spent before you learn the car’s history. The car was restomodded using the better parts from a 2007 Corvette Grand Sport, but without knowing all of the modifications, Rogan did a smart move and got Steve Strope and the Pure Vision team to give the C2 a once-over to make sure that things were all right. It is a good thing he did, too, because while there was a lot of good work done, there was just as much hacking done to the Corvette. But the car is completed, the car is streetable and the blown LS1 is ready to run. This is where the Man With The Giant Chin comes in. In the past there has been plenty of criticism over Jay Leno’s Garage, but you have to wonder, after watching this, whether the criticism is deserved. Listen to him and Rogan talk as they wheel the ‘Vette into the hills…outside of the price tags of what they are talking about, they just sound like any two car guys…if you can hear them over that blower.

Say what you will about Leno, he is a real car (and motorcycle) nut and likes it all, USA, European and Japanese. He just has the money to do what we would all like to……..

There is no criticism of Leno that sticks in the car world. He’s the real deal and loves them as much or more than most of us gearheads. I truly believe any other endeavor he has achieved success in was to forward his pursuit and passion for cars. Might be one of 5 or so famous people I’d really like to meet in person.

I’ve been fortunate enough to meet in person Jay Leno and Steve Strope at the Mopar Spring Fling in Van Nuys when I was stationed in San Diego, both are very much down to earth car guys.

We need to get over Jay Leno’s laying of ungreased pipe to both Dave and Conan. Both show biz moves. I could give a rats ass. There have been car nuts who are nuts like David Koresh and the Hussiens. Not Jay, he just has no scruples when it come to show biz. Just keep turboing R.O. Bentlys and I’m fine. As for Rogan’s car, real nice but lets hope it doesn’t smoke on start up like Joe on his pocast and while we’re at it thank god Jay was driving as it might of ended alot differently with a concussed mma dude (nice black eye) with a head full of Shroom Tech and Redban distracting you. Btw Joe for gods sake take off your fanny pack in the car. It looks like you’ve got 12lbs of dong in a 3lb leather pickle pouch.

It’s a beautiful car . . . except I do not like the wheels chosen for it. They look ugly and provide no cooling to the brakes. Other than that, it’s a hell of a car.

Sure sounded like they were bashing the work of Rad Rides by Troy on the SickFish Cuda.

I recall Troy mentioning Rogan wasn’t a real car guy, and didn’t take proper care of the Cuda.
