Troy Ladd is the owner of Hollywood Hot Rods and one of the nations best car builders. He is known for traditional hot rods, and has built AMBR winners and all kinds of other bitchin show cars, but this one he is not going to touch except to make it run and drive. This is “The Dewar Coupe”. In this video by 4-Speed Films you’ll get the story of this car, find out just how Troy managed to get it, and how it is just one of a few cars Troy recently found sitting for more than 50 years. This stuff still happens!
This car was a show car, from a builder nobody seems to be able to identify, and Troy plans to clean it up and make it run and drive safely without messing with anything he doesn’t have to. This will not become a recreated or fully restored hot rod. It will never be made into a street rod, and we’re glad for it. This is a piece of history that is just too much fun and we can’t wait to see him driving it around town!
Very cool!
Right guy to find this car, cool
I agree that he should do as little as possible to this car to getting it running and make it safe to drive. Cool car and even a cooler story. Why cant I have stuff like this happen to me ?
Very cool. It looks like a great find on all those cars.
Very cool as said before. If this hasn’t been posted on the HAMB it should be. If anybody and/or forum could crack the history on the car it’s those guys.
