As you wake up and check out the news feed, yours truly will be checking out a new show at Beech Bend Raceway: the Car Craft Summer Nationals are rolling into town, and I’ve already seen some interesting machines roaming around the streets of Bowling Green. I’ll be on-site with the camera all weekend, and I’m hoping to see some action and not an overstuffed car show. Truth be told, it’s been a minute since I’ve heard engines in anger, and I could really stand a healthy dose of supercharger howl, nitrous enhanced RPM climbs, and the smell of burned rubber inundating everything around me, soaking into my clothes. As I prepare my kit for the weekend and get ready to go get some rest for tomorrow, I remember one last detail: I need to set an alarm for the morning to make sure I’m awake enough and motivated properly for the events ahead. What better way to start the day that with a collection of burnout contest tip-ins, courtesy of our buddy Flinty? This is the meat and potatoes of a burnout contest…after the first thirty seconds, the car is usually shrouded in a dense fog of rubber mist. This way, you see car, you see it in action, then you see it disappear and you move on to the next machine!
