Next Up On The Australian Burnout Stage…A V8 VW Bug Convertible?

We’ve seen a lot of cars participate in Aussie burnout contests…from typical Australian and American muscle, to engine-swapped Japanese pieces…but this might be the first Volkswagen Bug that we’ve ever seen take on the skidpad before, . The 44hp lump of a flat-four was trashed for something quite a bit more snotty shoved where the “frunk” of the Bug would be (Ford, maybe?), but we don’t know any specifics on the engine. What we do know is that the VW is light enough that the engine tries to torque around the whole car. And it’s a convertible VW…how insane…how absolutely insane do you have to be to sit out in the open with two rear tires going for broke right behind you in a tiny car with just a roll bar there in case you botch it? This was never, ever considered when the People’s Car was being designed, we know it.
