Nothing Caps Off A Neighborhood Party Quite Like A 6,000+ RPM Burnout In The Driveway

Nothing Caps Off A Neighborhood Party Quite Like A 6,000+ RPM Burnout In The Driveway

The Raschke family has turned what I used to do when I was a teenager into a block party event. For the last several years, they have hosted a get-together that includes food, music, and at some point in time during the festivities, one hell of a burnout contest in the driveway. How they are getting away with it eludes us (cool neighbors?) but since the event is held on private property and nothing is allowed to go on into the street, technically (and very loosely), they are ok. This footage is from last August, and shows Nick Raschke and his 383-powered Dodge Demon giving the driveway all sorts of hell until the tires let go. We simply don’t believe that there isn’t a neighbor within a five-mile range of their house who isn’t calling the cops on them every single year, but maybe if they would stop and notice that the mosquitoes magically quit biting around the same time, maybe they would let up.

I think too much of my “shithead” neighbors to do something like that. Question…did he clean the bed sheet covering the garage door before he put it back on the living room picture window?? I say….NO.

His grandfather built the house in 1947 by hand. Many great stories started from that location.

I would be afraid to beat up my 1/4 panels with the flying tire shrapnel. I had a blowout on a 71 Satellite once that started to do a number on my sheet metal – and it was at a fairly low speed…

It’s a great car show, party, BBQ. The food is great and the band starts rolling after the burnouts. Sure, the cops come every year, bit big brother Jim is up on all his statutes and laws. He sends them on their way with a smile.
