Rollover procedure: Keep all limbs inside of the vehicle. attempt to maintain control of the vehicle while passengers brace for impacts, and wait for the vehicle to quit moving before attempting to egress. Rollover procedure for a rock bouncer: exhaust every possible option available to dynamically roll vehicle onto tires. Using judicious amounts of throttle, steering inputs, wheelspin, and even switching between forward and reverse are all acceptable. and the driver is encouraged to keep working until there is no doubt that the vehicle is not going anywhere without outside help. The drivers who compete in rockbouncer racing treat their rigs like a cheap remote-control car, bashing their way up hills and over obstacles. Sooner or later luck and skill run out and that leaves only one way to go: back down the hill, and probably not the way they wanted to. We have sat in awe as we’ve watched these drivers do what should be impossible to do, and we cringe every time we hear the smacking sound of several thousand pounds of off-road buggy bounce down a hill. Luckily, all of that pretty tubing that surrounds the rig and it’s occupants is there for safety, so once the buggy quits bouncing down the hill like a Plinko chip, as long as the axles didn’t buy the farm in the rollover, there’s a good chance the next sound you’ll hear is the engine firing off so that the driver can make another run!
